This news may not come as so much of a shock to many, but a big relief none the less to fans as WWE 2K15 will be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One.  During the time of 2K Games taking over from the bankrupt THQ, there wasn’t really enough time to develop anything all that significant.  Though it’s fair to say that WWE 2K14’s ‘30 Years of Wrestlemania’ mode proved hugely popular.

2K Games have already released NBA 2K14 for the PS4 and Xbox One, and while not being a basketball fan, there’s no denying that it looked stunning on the new gen consoles.  So it certainly wets every WWE fans appetite in regards to the prospects of a new gen WWE title.

The news came via a Take-Two earnings call when this news was revealed, as well as confirming NBA 2K15 for the PS4 and Xbox One.  Here’s what Take-Two president Karl Slatoff had to say:

During fiscal 2015, consumers can look forward to exciting next generation releases from our NBA 2K and WWE franchises as well as other unannounced titles that promise to raise the bar for excellence,“.

Chairman and CEO of Take-Two Strauss Zelnick added “Our WWE franchise has quickly proven to be a successful addition to our portfolio” , then followed up with “Sales of WWE 2K14 have exceeded our expectations and the title is being supported with add-on content including a Season Pass featuring many of fan-favourite WWE superstars and legends” before finishing up with “We believe there is a meaningful opportunity to grow this series by further leveraging 2K’s marketing power and development expertise.

So there you have it folks, WWE 2K15 will be coming to the new generation consoles, as well as presumably to the PS3 and Xbox 360.  In the meantime why not checkout our review of WWE 2K14.
