Darkstalkers Resurrection Delayed

Capcom of Japan have confirmed that they are pushing back the release date of Darkstalkers(Vampire in Japan) Resurrection, a remake of Darkstalkers and Vampire Savior, by a month to March 14th, due to wanting extra time to ensure the ports are faithful and the online play is “pleasant”.

I got to play a build of this remake at Play Expo, and it felt pretty faithful to the source, but I’m not an expert on the Darkstalkers series as a whole. Of course, online play and other features were not on demonstration that day so I can’t speak for most of the added features, but the in-game challenges system seen in 3rd Strike: Online Edition and Marvel Vs Capcom Origins was present, and remains a good use of the letterbox borders. Play felt fluid with no framerate issues or the like.

It will be a £9.99/1200 MSP download on release for Xbox 360/PS3, featuring GGPO online play (the best available), a Trials mode reminiscent of Street Fighter 4 and some other goodies. Some new screenshots that were recently released by Capcom Japan can be seen above and below.
