Sony have finally spilled the beans on the details of their subscription-based Playstation Plus service in terms of their cutting-edge handheld device. On top of the PS3 ‘Instant Games Collection’ you recieve as part of PS+, you will now recieve Vita titles for no extra cost above your £39.99 a year subscription.

The Vita portion of the service will commence next week, on the 21st of November. Of course, what you want to know right now if you’re interested in PS+ is what these Vita games are. First of all is one of, if not the best game available on the Vita so far, Gravity Rush, developed by SCEJ to use the full capacity of the system effectively. The other retail title included is Uncharted: Golden Abyss, the Vita-exclusive spin on the cinematic action experience, albeit shrunk down to the big screen and given some touchscreen functions.

As well as these two retail games are two download titles. There’s Chronovault, a puzzle platformer in which you guide a ball to a hole. Of course, it’s entirely more complex than that, with time manipulation and confusing arenas to traverse. Along with that is a side-scroller called Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack. Billed a humourous and light-hearted adventure, it sounds like a pretty staple but enjoyable platformer.

There are other bonuses, including an extra one gigabyte cloud storage for all of your Vita saves and data, as well as a day-one PS+ Vita sale, where the following games will be available for one week at 20% off:

  • Escape Plan
  • Unit 13
  • Hustle Kings
  • MotorStorm RC
  • Super Stardust Delta and Advanced Star Fighter Pack Bundle
  • Top Darts
  • Little Deviants
  • Modnation Racers: Road Trip
  • Reality Fighters

Sony have promised that the first four games will stay available longer than usual on the Playstation Plus cycle, so that the forthcoming Christmas recipients of a shiny new Vita can take advantage, I’m sure. Those who already are members better get to making space on their SD cards for their new games.
