The library for PS4 and PS VITA keeps growing with interesting games everyday, and today it was announced that the aforementioned platforms will be getting a unique “theatrical brawler ” that looks nothing short of awesome fun. Announced on the European Playstation Blog, Foul Play works in a very interesting and unique way.

Basically, you have to treat each level as a theatrical stage and garner positive reaction from the audience. In fact, there is this “Mood-o-Meter”, that gets filled each time you flow through the game flawlessly, in turn causing the audience to cheer for you. However, if you do not put on a good show and take too much damage unrelentingly, you’ll get booed off the stage. So give the people what they want.

For the gameplay, join the Baron and his assistant Mr Scampwick in co-op play wading through hordes of combat trained actors in a variety of menacing (and/or ridiculous) costumes, all set to beautiful and engagingly crafter sets that vary from the automatons of Atlantis to werewolves on the misty moors of Somerset and even a cult inadvertently starting the great fire of London!

Unfortunately, no date has been given for the premier of this interesting game, but those who are interested could definitely follow the devs on Facebook or Twitter, and check out the official website. At the moment, the devs have this to say:

“We’re in the process of making sure everything looks great on the PS Vita display and in full 1080p for PS4 with our 60FPS animations. We’re not quite ready to announce what day will be opening night just yet, but if you’ve got any other questions I’ll be happy to answer them in the comments!”

Lastly, check out the reveal trailer below, and put on a good show!
