Creat Studios released a ps3 exclusive game titled “Mushroom wars”. The bright and vibrant world of little mushroom people who are under your command. This game is a Strategy based game not unlike the first warcraft, only this one looks like it borderlines Pixel Junk’s illustration and “cuteness” as well the music feel.

If you played Pixel Junk’s “Monsters” then you might like this game. It differs in areas but looks very similar. In Mushroom Wars you start as a small village of people growing by the second. Seeing as there are more villages in the area, your people need to populate those areas as well.

There is always an alter force that has to try and ruin the day isn’t there? Well your color most of the time is orange and the opposing forces are blue most of the time. The game play is a bit difficult at first having a button to tell your troops to move and another telling them “where” to go. While alternating your positions using R1 an L1, you also use one of the buttons to upgrade your villages. The cool thing about this is that you can choose how many troops go out and invade.

As you send your troops out to another base, it has a number above it displaying how many troops you need to invade the area. The sad thing is that it is the number at which your troops die as well. Along with invading comes stronger troops, to get stronger troops you sacrifice 10-20 troops to upgrade your village which means stronger troops as ell as harder to invade. Remember, the enemy is doing the same thing you are, so if you spend all of your troops, the enemy will move in.

Mushroom wars is a cute game and has potential, but I think they made it too similar looking to the style of pixel Junk. In my opinion they should have just sold this game to pixel Junk and made money that way. Its a fun game and is addicting as well, but playing it you never get over the fact that Creat Studios made this game instead of Pixel Junk.
