Football Genius: The Ultimate Quiz is available on the XBox360 Marketplace, and invites you to pit your wits against each other with footballing knowledge in a number of unique quiz rounds.

The game has more than 3,500 questions for you to answer in a number of different game modes, so if you’ve caught the football fever that comes with the World Cup this is the perfect way to outdo your friends (single screen or online) and prove that you know the most.

A variety of different quiz modes keep the game fresh and add something a bit different to it. Choose between the Half-Time and Full-Time modes depending on how much time you have, and you will be hit with a variety of different rounds, ranging from first one to answer getting to punish the other players, to having to identify a player from slowly appearing clues, or from a slowly focussing photo, answering questions about a specific photograph, recognising famous faces from football and many more.

With the game being the Deal of the Week (400 Microsoft Points until tomorrow), it’s a worthwhile game to get whilst the price is low! As an arcade game it is pleasing, but one can’t shake the feeling that it is trying too hard to be one of its competitors ( the hugely successful Buzz or Scene It?). However, this is in no way a criticism, with both those games being hugely successful. The game offers questions both old and new, and on international and domestic football from many leagues, so there is something for everyone – the old and new generations. The sheer vast range of questions ensures that the game will remain new for many a session, with no answers being learnt from repeated questioning.

All in all, the game does what you expect it too. It provides a challenging but doable football quiz that covers all ranges of the sport, and provides the competitive nature in both the online and the multiplayer game modes that quiz games like this require. Thoroughly enjoyable, and well worth getting at the reduced price!
