We have got the gameplay from the first chapter that was showcased over at Tokyo Games Show, in it you can see how the mechanics work, and what the world design looks like. Nothing short of stunning, if I do say so myself. The game will release on the 1st of October, so in the meantime, be sure to watch the gameplay demo from TGS below and check out the dev diaries that have been released thus far.

Rain follows the story of a nameless young boy, who after seeing a silhouette  of a girl, decides to follow it. Much to his surprise though, he turns invisible when he comes out of the heavy downpour. Soon after that he finds out that only the rain has the ability to make him somehow visible, using an outlining of his silhouette. Now the great thing about this game is that the visibility element is not only for the story, but instead plays a major part in the gameplay. To succeed in solving the puzzles in-game, players will have to learn to utilize it to help the little boy.

The heartfelt and charming indie game will trickle on PS3 this October and for those who pre-order now there will be some interesting items with the purchase. The pre-order will offer a few pieces of exclusive content, and not only will you be getting the full game, but you will also receive:

  • a Dynamic Theme
  • five hand-drawn Avatars
  • a Musical Montage (which includes beautiful music pieces and sound effects from the game)
  • A Static Theme

All this can be yours for €12.99. Also, the download for the extras won’t be available till the 2nd of October, so those of you that were hoping it’d be available before the game are out of luck. Lastly, be sure to check out the gameplay demo from TGS.
