Mario Kart 8 To Be Released Worldwide In May

As part of Nintendo’s investor’s briefing last night, which isn’t as glamorous as a Nintendo Direct, Iwata confirmed a May release for what is potentially the biggest Wii U game of the year, Mario Kart 8. While myself and most were expecting an April release, May isn’t bad at all and a worldwide release makes it all the sweeter.

Iwata continued:  “We will announce the specific release dates of each software title and the release of new titles in other opportunities such as Nintendo Direct.” It’s safe to say Mario Kart 8 is a very important game for the Wii U this year, it has a wide demographic and could potentially help hardware sales significantly, but let’s not get bogged down in sales numbers. The game looks like it’s going to be a blast too, as most Mario Kart instalment are.
