A Link to the Past and or Majora’s Mask Remake Confirmed

Newly revealed info from within The Legend of Zelda world has recently hit the spotlight once again after Shigeru Miyamoto’s generous hints toward both a Majora’s Mask and A Link to the Past remake. While Miyamoto has mentioned that he would love to see A Link to the Past on 3DS with the ability to play it in 3D, Nintendo has also mentioned that if enough fans want Majora’s Mask in HD, they’ll likely make the extra effort to give us what we want. Neither game had been confirmed until a recent interview with Miyamoto himself by IGN where he stated that one was going to be made, but wasn’t sure when and which console would be best for a remake.

“We haven’t quite decided yet, whether we’re going to do A Link to the Past, because there’s also the possibility of doing a remake of Majora’s Mask, said Shigeru Miyamoto, “This is something we’ve certainly been talking about and doing a little bit of experimenting with, to figure out which way we’re going to go.

“We have so many goals right now. We’re always looking at expanding our audience and giving people the opportunity to get their hands on 3DS and see what kind of fun gaming experiences they can have. And now, we’re also tasked with pushing the Wii U. So we have lots of good opportunities in terms of thinking about which Zelda game is going to be best for which purpose.”

As Miyamoto mentions both consoles with much enthusiasm, it seems that there could still be a possibility of both titles being remade, one featured on 3DS and one on the Wii U, or both on each console. Let’s hope he can influence the majority of Nintendo into his way of thinking.
