With Pokemon X and Y due out next month (October 12th 2013) people are hounding Nintendo for more information. So Nintendo decided to release a Nintendo Direct video today. Although this video didn’t give us the news some of us had hoped for, (The evolutions of the starters for example!) the new announcements has possibly caused even more excitement!

I will explain the above image shortly, as it may have caused you some interest. But first…Nintendo have announced something called the Pokemon Bank, it will be a downloadable app onto the 2/3DS which will enable you to store upto 3000 Pokemon in an online database. They explained the reason for creating this was because there is only so much space on the PC in X/Y but with the addition of the Pokemon Bank, space should never be an issue. It’s also tied to another app called the Poke Transporter which will allow you to transfer your Pokemon in the Bank from the recent Pokemon titles, Black and White, Black 2 and White 2 (YES! My Blaziken can follow me some more!) Sounds incredible so far, however, there is a down point. Nintendo explained that due to the nature of the workload they would need for such an online storage device to work fully, they are having to charge an annual fee for this app. The bank will be launched in Japan on the 25th December costing around 500 Yen. There has been no release date or cost announced for any other region at current.

Now we can get to the top image. If you’re looking forward to this game, then you’ve more than likely played the previous Pokemon titles. You will know that in every game the regions Pokemon Professor will give you a choice of a starter to get your adventure going. Not any more. Your starter Pokemon (Chespin, Froakie or Fennekin) is given to you by one of your friends in the game. However, the Pokemon Professor gives you another choice in the game, a choice between one of the Generation 1 starters, Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle! To be clear, I don’t mean you have to pick one of the Six. You get to pick 2 of the Six! Not only that, but the Classic Starters all have their own Mega-Evolutions for you to be amazed by. I already know who my two starters are going to be…do you?

Last but not least, Nintendo have announced to special type of 3DS XL which will have some amazing Pokemon Decals on it. Available in two colours, blue and red, they will be available from 27th September and costing £179.99 according to GAME.
