The new revision has several improvements to the other models, firstly, there are more buttons, such as the C-Stick, ZL and ZR buttons, making the console feel more like a Wii U GamePad. You’ll be able to use these controls with existing 3DS games. The 3D function has been improved; before, if you moved out of the “sweet spot”, you lost the 3D effect, now however, the device tracks your head movements and changes the 3D filters, allowing you to see the effect from various angles. The model will also allow users to use NFC features, such as Nintendo’s upcoming “amiibo” toys.

Additionally, the screens are larger and the exterior of the model can be customised with cover plates, sold separately. The device supports Micro SD cards, and you can send music and pictures from your PC straight to the device. The New 3DS also has a much better CPU, allowing HTML5 browsing and games like Xenoblade to run on the system.
