Nintendo have recently announced that the free online video service, ‘Nintendo Video’, is going to be launched in Europe this coming Wednesday. No word on a US release date as of yet though.

A few weeks back, Nintendo offered a video service for Japanese 3DS owners where they could watch 3D video content. They have had content such as Idoling Sumo 3DS, a program in which a popular girl group take on a variety of challenges and Magic Class 3D, a program featuring popular magicians performing different magic tricks. Each channel is updated daily with brand new clips. EDIT: Turns out Japan has had a TV service for a few weeks and have now themselves received the Nintendo Video software.

Now, Europe has been granted access to this bit of software and it’s good to see that this service has been released outside of Japan so quickly because it hopefully shows that Nintendo isn’t holding back on supporting the 3DS as much as possible globally.

All content is country-exclusive and while it is unknown what content the UK will be receiving, what we do know is that earlier in the year, we were told that we’d be seeing exclusive 3D shorts of the classic ‘Shaun the Sheep’ and see partnerships from Sky and Eurosport in the future.

Here is a link to the page about Nintendo Video (although at time of writing, it brings up a 404 error with Waluigi looking a bit annoyed.
