To go with the anticipation of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire being released this November, Nintendo have also announced a new design of the 2DS that will be released on November 7th. The Transparent Blue and Transparent Red 2DS will feature a transparent panel on the front of the system allowing you to see the skeleton of the handheld console. The back of the 2DS will be a solid panel of blue or red.

Upon release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the Transparent 2DS will be available in a bundle with the game – Omega Ruby for the Transparent Red 2DS and Alpha Sapphire for the Transparent Blue 2DS. The bundle will come with the 2DS system and the respective Pokémon title pre-loaded on a 4GB memory card for the system.

Following the announcement of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, a demo will be available from the following:

  • Game, Amazon, Smyth Toys Superstores, ShopTo and the Nintendo UK Official Store from the 15th October until launch
  • Codes will then also be made available through a number of other partners including Wikia, Bin Weevils and Nintendo Life until mid-November

The demo will feature gameplay not already featured elsewhere. During the course of the demo, players will be able to encounter a “familiar Pokémon that can now Mega Evolve” and this Pokémon will be able to be transferred to the release copy of the game. On top of that, any reward items that have been obtained in the demo will be able to be moved to the full version of the game and these details will be announced soon.
