F-Zero For the Wii U?

Talking to Edge, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that an F-Zero Wii U game may work but only if it offers something surprising.

He had ruled out any possibility that there would be F-Zero on the 3DS as it wouldn’t surprise gamers or bring anything new to the series,

The latest F-Zero game was released on the GBA and none followed up on the DS and now it seems to continue with the 3DS.

“I think at the time it was a really big surprise, a new thing, a product that made sense,”said Miyamoto. “I don’t see with current hardware how you could create a similar surprise.”

He added:

“But maybe with future hardware, with Wii U coming up, maybe we could create something that does make sense, either as a smaller game, or a fully fledged title.”
