New set of official English Pokemon names

With only a few weeks left until the English release of Pokemon Black/White, a lot of fans are still scratching their heads over what most of the new 150 creatures will actually be called. The few official names that trickled out of Nintendo headquarters a while back were met with less than positive reaction from the hardcore fans, especially regarding the three starter pokemon: Snivey, Oshwott and Tepig. If it was simply because they didn’t live up to Pokemon’s reputation for cheesy names then this new batch should go down a lot better:

Gochirizeru is now: Gothitelle, the astral body Pokemon.
I guess “the Gothic lolita Pokemon” would have been pushing it?

Desukan is now: Cofagrigus, the Coffin pokemon.
Mispronouncing this one could get you in trouble.

Mogurew is now: Drilbur, the mole pokemon.
Not sure where they were going with this one. Uh, Moles dig and so can drills I guess?

Wargul is now: Braviary, the valiant Pokemon.
Aviary + brave. Pokemon cheese at its best, it’s like i’m suddenly in the 90s again.

Kibago is now: Axew, the tusk Pokemon.
Apparently this cute little thing’s a dragon, go figure.

Rankurusu is now: Reuniclus, the multiplying Pokemon.
I hope kids enjoy trying to say that one.

Koromori is now: Woobat, the bat Pokemon.
If previous Pokemon games are anything to go by, prepare to encounter hundreds of these things every time you enter a cave (or your nightmares).

Minezumi is now: Patrat, the scout Pokemon.
Bidoof’s incredibly paranoid cousin?

Musharna is still: Musharna the drowsing pokemon.
……….dawwwwwwwwwww.
