FIFA14′s Legacy Edition Reveals No Gameplay Updates
FIFA 14 is set to launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC at the end of the week. EA Sports will also be releasing a FIFA 14 Legacy Edition on 3DS, PS Vita, Wii, and the PS2. This version of the game doesn’t seem to contain any updates for the gameplay from last years title.
Nintendo issued a press release about the weekly European eShop update saying that FIFA 14 “delivers unmatched authenticity that reflects the current football season with updated kits and rosters but no updates to gameplay or game modes.” So, if you do pick up FIFA 14 Legacy Edition for the 3DS, PS Vita, Wii and the PS2, you will effectively be playing FIFA 13, with updated squads, kits, etc. You won’t have any of FIFA 14’s gameplay updates which the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC have.
This is also not the first time EA have done this with the Legacy Editions of the FIFA series, as it proved with the FIFA 13 installment. So effectively gamers purchasing FIFA 14’s Legacy Edition will be paying £39.99/€49.99/$64 for a two-year old game.
