Turbo: Super Stunt Squad is an upcoming racing game featuring characters from the the new DreamWorks animated feature film Turbo.

In Turbo: Super Stunt Squad you assume the role of various characters from the movie to race and trick yourself to glory against opponent snails in what seems like a kart racer meets Tony Hawks style gameplay. Collecting a selection of power-ups to attack opposing slugs or temporarily improve your defenses, you’ll find yourself racing through 6 areas loosely based on those from the movie. That’s where the kart racer origins come from but while racing you’ll see the areas have been set up with half pipes for the player to boost off, trick from and find shortcuts to victory. As with the earlier Tony Hawk games you’ll also have a handful of secondary objectives such as collecting letter to spell out SKA…ahem…..TURBO and jumping over gaps etc. You get the idea.

As a movie tie-in, Turbo: Super Stunt Squad looks to be taking a pretty big departure from the films premise but that comes to be expected with these type of games in the modern gaming era.

Already released in America but hitting these shores on October 11th, Turbo: Super Stunt Squad doesn’t look like it’s going to change the bad movie tie-in perception any time soon. The movie Turbo is out in cinemas October 18th.

Turbo: Super Stunt Squad will be released for Wii U, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.  Published by D3 Publisher the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U versions have been developed by Monkey Bar Games with the Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS versions  developed by Torus Games.
