Next week’s new releases! December 6th – December 12th

Okay, okay, I realise this list is totally pointless, I mean the only thing worth mentioning is the Sunderland Flying Boat expansion pack for Flight Simulator 2004/X right? I might as well not even write the rest really, however my journalistic integrity demands that I go through the motions even if it is a waste of everyone’s time.

Seems our good friends over at Nordic Games have decided that, you know what? There just isn’t enough shovel-ware on the Wii and thus have chosen to grace us with 8 different (?) budget price racing games in a single week. I’m particularly amused by the fact that they decided that Truck Racing and Super Truck Racing needed to be separate games. Perhaps it’s like Street Fighter and SUPER Street Fighter where one just has a bunch of new characters and balancing tweaks to appease the tournament scene? Such details are beyond my powers of divination.

Oh there also seems to be something called World of Warcraft Cataclysm? Not really sure what to make of that really. It’s some sort of expansion pack for an obscure niche RPG or something. Can’t really see it catching on, especially since all the RPG fans will be busy playing Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, the third game in a franchise that hasn’t seen any action for over 7 years. Even that will likely be overshadowed by Venetica on the PS3, a port of an unpopular German Action RPG that’s been available on the xbox and PC for over a month. Yes, truly WoW: Cataclysm is destined to flop, it’s a wonder Blizzard even bothered.
