Nintendo Wi-Fi connection is coming to an end, friend codes and all. Yes, Nintendo is axing the service responsible for online activities on its DS and Wii consoles globally. The 3DS and Wii U use their new Nintendo Network and will not be going down.

A list of all the games affected is available to see here, so it’s time to get your friends around for one last Mario Kart DS and Super Smash Bros. Brawl match. Nintendo Video for the 3DS in Japan will also be ending on March 31st. Services like the Virtual Consoles will still be up. It seemed inevitable really, the service has outlived most other games and Nintendo’s last Wii model didn’t feature the ability to connect online. What was your fondest moment of playing online with a DS or Wii?
