Nintendo to put Blu-Ray in their next console

Reports suggest that Nintendo will use Blu-Ray in their next home console. Sources have stated that the console will implement the tech that Sony currently using in the PS3.

According to reports yesterday, nintendo’s new console will be “significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 3” and Nintendo intends to “recapture the hardcore market”.

The machine is reported to be releasing in 2012 and will have backwards capabilities.

With many Nintendo fans already kicking up a fuss that Mario will be falling into the Sony trap due to the games being in a Blu-Ray format. The console will be able to play DVDs and Blu-Rays as well.

IGN have also reported that the console will have a touch screen controller.

So will we no longer be using buttons to play games? Or will the controller act as some sort of futuristic dreamcast controller, instead of a memory slot a touch screen instead? We shall have to wait and see.
