Reviewed: Sonic Colors (Colours)

When Sega and Sonic Team said they were going start listening to their fans they weren’t kidding. If Sonic Colors is the start of their new direction then I’m very excited to see where Sonic goes and does next. If you’ve ever enjoyed a 2D or 3D Sonic game you must give this one a try. It’s not the best 3D Sonic game, but it is the best Sonic game to come out since the 16bit games.

Pros: Man these graphics (especially for the Wii) look amazing, Beautiful soundtrack, perfect balance of 2D running and platforming, Wisps add to the platforming parts and help you find new areas, Super Sonic for all the levels except boss fights, The humor is nicely done… for the most part.

Cons: Freeform 3D sections felt lazy in design and have sloppy controls, 2D jumping will take a little time to get used to, Some wisps have a little difficulty in controlling them (looking at pink, yellow, and purple in particular), Expect a few cheap deaths, Where’s the sound test?
