Hot off the presses I bring you some more details on the WiiU for Europe! Satoru Shibata gave us a presentation of what to expect with an announcement that we would be playing on our new lovely Nintendo consoles from November 30th . A lot of what was announced to the Japanese was announced in the UK edition about the WiiU specs, make sure you check out the previous post if you’re interested. Along with that we were given a huge bunch of information on titles which I can now divulge to you guys.

First things first, Nintendo Land (A piece of software that will be available as part of a bundle with the Premium Wii U Pack in US and Europe) was discussed with some detail giving us the names of all the different areas of the game a player can visit. The game is set up in the style of a theme park where your Mii and friends can go to, and play games themed around current Nintendo titles. Some of these areas include The Legend of Zelda Battle Quest, Pikmin Adventure, Metroid Blase, Mario Chase, Luigis Ghost Mansion and Animal Crossing Sweet Days, plus a bunch more. There was a lot of depth into the functionality of the WiiU GamePad and exactly how it interacts with the game showing you using weapons in the Zelda Battle Quest area and as a map in the Metroid Blase area.

New Super Mario Brothers U was mentioned as well as previously mentioned in the Japanese announcement earlier. This Mario has a ton of new modes and seems to be an extended version of the Wii edition of this series. Along with this we were shown Rayman Legends and the multiplayer function that allows one player to play as Rayman on the TV while the other plays as another character using a shield on the Wii U controller. ZombieU is another title set for the console, based in an apocalyptic zombie ridden world. Shown in the video there seems to be a lot of online functionality and again heavily focusing on the power of the Wii U controller. They let us into a nice little function where you can spray paint messages to other players in parts of the game that could either help them or hinder there progress if they follow your “Advice”.

Mass Effect 3 is another game set to be ported along with a special “Armoured Edition” of Batman Arkham City. Other titles set to come over to the Wii U include Fifa 13 and Trine 2 Directors Cut. Trine 2 will feature exclusive bonus Wii U levels and content. Assassin’s Creed 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge, Sribblenauts Unlimted, Darksiders 2 and Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed were shown as titles for the WiiU in little snippets. So shout a hurray for all those lovely titles. If you’re a fan of super hero games then The Wonderful 101 is the game for you, an explosive user friendly game based around controlling a collection of heroes, a little like Pikmin. This brings me to one big announcement thrown to us today with a teaser trailer. Bayonetta 2 will be coming to WiiU, exclusively. A blow to some and a comfort to others I suppose.

I have a couple of more games to mention before I finish, set to release on the eShop. Toki Tori makes a return with Toki Tori 2! This little ray of sunshine will pop onto our consoles soon with exclusive content and even a level editor so you can challenge your friends. A little snippet was also shown of new game Nano Assault Neo, which looked highly detailed and fast paced. From the looks of it this game is reminiscent of Super Stardust HD for PS3 and PSP. I imagine if you like games like that and Blast Factor, this one will sit perfectly with you. A nice little bit at the end showed us that they are making a Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate! This will have high compatibility with the Nintendo 3DS allowing you to both go online on both consoles and transfer data from one to the other. There wasn’t too much clarity on what this meant but it could mean playing with people from console to handheld or at least interacting with your own profile on each game, either way, very interesting. All in all a brilliant day for Nintendo fans. Check back soon for more information on Wii U.
