Drakengard 3 – The Sound of Music

One huge deal for me as a gamer is the beauty of sound in a game. Everything from the music, to the sound effects realism to the tone  of the surroundings matching the musical set piece in my ear, all of it can completely change my perception of a game.

The beautiful looking and sounding Drakengard 3 by Square Enix is shaping up to be a visual treat as well as an audio treat! The trailer below shows Keiichi Okabe, lead Sound Designer working with the Drakengard 3 team, sharing his own thoughts about video game music and gameplay, alongside the creative decisions made within the team to include a mostly vocal soundtrack. Soundtracks comprising a large amount of vocal work is rare, but even more so in a video game!

Remember people the Collectors Edition of this game is available on the Square Enix Store for £59.99 and comes with a slew of awesome content including the pre-game Novella, showcasing the story of the sisters before the fall!
