According to an article from Joystiq.com, the forthcoming PS3 exclusive, Beyond: Two Souls will have a form of co-op multiplayer.  This will not work in the traditional sense of having multiple controllers, but rather through the form of iOS and Android touch screen phones, effectively turning them into second controllers.

The main player will control lead character Jodi Holmes via the control pad, while the other player will be able to control her spirit guide Aiden.  You will of course have to download the free ‘Beyond Touch’ app.  Having Aiden controlled via this method will certainly compliment the free floating gameplay element that this character provides within the game, making full use of the touchpad function.

This is certainly an exciting and unexpected announcement and I cannot wait to try this out when Beyond: Two Souls is released for the PS3 on October 8th in North America and the 11th across Europe.  Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
