Order Up! Announced for 3DS and PS3: Screens and details

The original Order Up was released at the end of 2008, and I for one had a great time with the title on the Wii. The game received an overall meteoritic score of 76, making it the highest-rated cooking game, and is now headed for other platforms.

Due to be arriving on store shelves in Q4 2011 for both the 3DS and PS3, this new version will see added features tailored to each platform.

What made the original so entertaining for me was the added depth that elevated the title over other cooking games. The stylised art, entertaining story and multi-tasking that it required meant that there was always something to be doing.

The game features the perfect mix of multiple genres. On one hand you’re managing the restaurant, hiring chefs, taking orders and upgrading your equipment as seen in other games such as Diner Dash. However instead of sitting and waiting for a progress bar to fill up, you’re straight into Cooking Mama style action where you actively juggle all the items on the menu. Each customer had a different hidden preference that you had to discover, and the early morning mini-game to obtain coins was a nice distraction.

I look forward to seeing the title have a much wider release at the end of this year. See below for screenshots for both platforms.

Taken from the Press Release, new features include –

Accessible For All Ages: Exciting, engaging and easy to play, anyone can cook in Order Up!!
More Than a Mini ‐ Game: Order Up!! is a full game experience with a story, a world, a colorful cast of characters and invites players to truly run a restaurant.

Delicious Gameplay: An original, fresh combination of PS3®Move gesture cooking and 3DS™ enabled 3 dimensional frantic kitchen management, Order Up!! is unlike any other cooking game on any platform.

New Restaurants: Kung Fusion, featuring Asian fusion cuisine and replayable Fast Food Drive-Thru restaurant

Proven Gameplay With Great New Controls! – Touch-screen cooking!
Order Up!! is praised for its responsive controls and intuitive motions.  Gameplay is even more refined on all versions as we keep the same responsive animations and core gameplay, now driven by ultra responsive touch-screen and stylus input!

Loved this game when it was released on the Wii and looks like the developers have listened to the public and now included multi-player! 🙂
