We have all been waiting for news like this, and thank god we don’t have to wait much longer, as Sony makes the announcement on their blog that the PlayStation Network will be fully restored by the end of this week. This also includes the return of the PlayStation Store.

Within days now, PSN and Qriocity services for America, Europe, and some parts of Asia will see full restoration. Unfortunately, Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea will have to wait for a later date, which is yet to be announced.

Full restoration of the PSN includes full functionality of the PlayStation Store, the ability to use redeem vouchers and codes, Music Unlimited and Media Go services, and in-game commerce. This also means that Sony’s ‘Welcome Back’ package, including a 30-day free subscription to PlayStation Plus and two free PS3 games to download, will be available to all returning PSN account-holders.

Executive Deputy President of Sony, Kazuo Hirai, said:

“We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love. We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time.”

Sony has already noted that the PSN will be down for maintenance from 4:30pm today (Wednesday June 1st), until the early hours of Thursday, June 2nd.
