Diehard fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise have been demanding trophies being enabled on the critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, ever since trophies were first introduced to the PS3 back in 2008, less than a month after the worldwide release of MGS4.

For being the most significant exclusive on the PlayStation 3 next to the Uncharted series, many fans have been frustrated that there has been no signs of trophies being enabled on the title… until now.

Sourced by PlayStationLifeStyle; a leaked image of the brand new “Greatest Hits” packaging for the US of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots reveals some glimmer of hope. Inside the banner on the rear of the packaging clearly shows enabled “Multiplayer”, “Voice Chat”, and “Trophies”.

If this truly is the case, then we can all also expect a patch for existing owners who wish to jump back into their Octocam suits.

But don’t all you trophy whores start jumping for joy just yet, as this is yet to be confirmed by Konami or Kojima productions. Not only that, but this would not be the only time that the spreading of such rumours led to disappointment.

Push-Start will keep you posted on any updates in regards to this story.
