There’s some bad news for Twisted Metal fans. Due to localisation issues, Twisted Metal’s European launch date has been pushed back to March. Although no date in March has been officially confirmed, it seems like it could be on the shelves as early as March 1st. For the American fans, Twisted Metal is still scheduled for a Valentine’s Day release, that’s February 14th for those unfamiliar.

In addition to the delay, the European version is also to be modified. David Jaffe, director of the Twisted Metal series, confirmed that SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) had censored certain portions of cutscenes and minor gameplay elements, since them the team has gone on to tweak them. “99 percent of the cuts were in the movies and the movies are still intact and I sat with the editor — who was the same editor of the American movies — and we went through and addressed the notes from Europe and made sure the stories still worked,” Jaffe wrote in his post. As for the gameplay edits, Jaffe only spoke of one minor change: the guy laying on the gurney from Meat Wagon is now a cadaver rather than a live, screaming corpse.

Don’t forget that there is still a Twisted Metal demo available on the PlayStation Network, which should be enough to satisfy anyone hungering after the game.
