Following my colleagues Alex and Kevin, I decided to let you in on my top 5 movie game tie ins. Get ready to hit the big screen with gaming.

5. Spiderman 2

Released with the film, the game had a complete world for you to websling around. Hours on fun play along with the films storyline created a great game. Of course controls were a bit sticky in places but on whole it was a great game to play.

4. Ghostbusters

Who you gonna call? So overused but in this games case not at all. The game was identical to the original movie in many cases. The graphics beautifully captured the film series along with the fantastic humour. Get your gadgets at the ready as this one rocked store shelves.

3. Resident Evil

A series of great films led to a series of great movies. A long time after seeing a good old zombie flick, Resi jumped into our cinemas. After 2 released sequels and an upcoming one we still love both the series and the games. The games are keeping up to scratch as well recently. With the release of Resi 5 gold and Resident Evil Portable to be released soon the series is a long way from becoming ‘infected’.

2. Sonic The Hedgehog

People seem to have forgotten this film came out. After Sonic is tricked by Robotnik into thinking a mecha creation has gone mad, Robotnik took all of Sonics information from the persuing battle to create Metal Sonic. It’s up to the blue blur with the help of Tails and Knuckles to put Robotnik and his evil creation down. A amazing film by all accounts. However there were a lot of cencorship issues with this film. There were scenes with Sonic putting his middle finger up to Robotnik, Robotnik groping a woman, Knuckles swearing and breastfeeding. These were all removed eventually. Based around the time of the original Sonic games (1999) it fits in well to the movie video game bond.

1. Final Fantasy: Advent Children

One of my all time favourite movies. Final Fantasy 7 created a cult of gamers upon release, widely regarded as one of the greatest games of all time, the game had all the right movies in all the right places. The film is set 2 years after the game. It follows Cloud in his adventure to find the truth. When children start getting captured who carry the Genova virus, it’s up to Cloud to free them and stop the Advent Children who will stop at nothing to bring Genova back. However Kidaj the leader of the Advent Children isn’t what he seems to be. There’s something inside him. An old enemy ready to take his revenge. You know who. Sephiroth. Cloud cannot do this alone however he will need Tifa, Barret, Red, Cid, Vincent, Yufie and The Turks if he is ever going to stop them. The continuation of the FF7 storyline was in high demand for several years. In a attempt to not want to milk the series and to wait for the appropriate technology to come together the film was not released until 2007.

I hate to ruin your day again but…
I think the premise of the posts by you fellow colleagues was games that where based on movies. Your top three are all the other way around. Please can you correct your list as it is miss informing and not in the spirit of the previous lists that you are replying to.
