With all the fuss with Infinity Ward and Activision going on, this should not come as much of a surprise. The number one publisher is now teaming with one of the worlds best developers in a 10 year long alliance.

Under the terms of agreement; Activision will have exclusive, worldwide rights to publish and distribute all of Bungie’s games in the future on multiple platforms. This alliance will be Bungie’s second partnership since their split with Microsoft in 2007.

This alliance is beneficial to both companies of course allowing Activision to expand their portfolio with new franchises and an even more secure spot at number one.

President of Bungie, Harold Ryan, states

We chose to partner with Activision on our next IP because of their global reach, multi-platform experience and marketing expertise. From working together over the past nine months on this agreement, it is clear that Activision supports our commitment to giving our fans the best possible gaming experiences.

Thomas Tippl, Chief Operating Officer of Activision Blizzard, is clearly just as happy with this agreement as Harold.

Bungie is one of the premier studios in our industry and we are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with their talented team over the next decade.

Here’s a video of Harold and Thomas making some media quotes.
