Dead Space 3 Co-Op?

According to an IGN source, Dead Space 3 will incorporate drop in and drop out co-op alongside a character who features glowing red eyes, a monstrous scar and an engineering RIG just like Isaac Clarke. This character will be featured in single player as well and will act as a guide in Isaac’s adventure.

Dead Space 3 is set to include big gameplay changes, several new enemy types, and a completely new weapon system.

With your co-op partner, players will be able to share ammo, heal the other player and solve puzzles together. Not forgetting the horror aspect players will not be able to revive each other when down, so players will always have to be on the lookout. It’s no surprise that Dead Space 3 will feature co-op when you look at the success that Resident Evil 5, (another horror franchise) had when it implemented co-op. Let’s hope that the scares are not lost with the inclusion of another player.

The weapons appear to have seen a big change as well, each gun’s alternate fire has now be changed for example the plasma cutter which could have its axis of aim changed, now has an alternate fire that can knock enemies back with a force. Maybe we could see a system like Mass Effect 3 where by players can customise the weapons to their liking and maybe even have a option to change the alternate firing system?.

It appears as though our hero Isaac Clarke now has the ability to crouch and roll, meaning a possible cover system could be introduced. This could come into play with new enemy types that could possible attack Isaac Clarke with range attacks, therefore making cover an necessity.

Gigantic enemy types could also make an appearance, as Isaac Clarke in one instance comes across a huge worm like creature that comes from underneath the ground.

With E3 only a few weeks away, EA is bound to either confirm or deny these reports and maybe even give us more details.
