Today is certainly the day of Destiny!  Not necessarily your destiny (well if it is, good on you!), but Destiny the new game from Bungie, who are of course the creators of the Halo series.  Today we’ve had the beta dates confirmed across the platforms, a new beta trailer; an Expansion Pass has been announced, along with some awesome special editions.

Firstly let’s start with the highly anticipated beta set to kick-off this month.  First up the beta will begin for Playstation owners on Thursday July 17th at 5pm (UK time), and then it will begin for the Xbox owners on Wednesday July 23rd again at 5pm (UK time).

Both console beta’s will run until Monday July 28th 6:59am, though the beta will be offline for maintenance between Monday July 21st – Tuesday July 22nd.  The beta will be available to all those that have pre-ordered the game, though there are sites such as IGN that are running Destiny beta code giveaways.

An Expansion Pass that has been announced that will come with two packs; The Dark Below and House of Wolves.  The Expansion Pass will sell at £34.99 (includes both packs) and each expansion will be available for individual purchase at £19.99, so that’s a saving of £5 if you buy the Expansion Pass.

The Expansion Pass will also be included in all three of the announced special editions, which are detailed below.  It has also been revealed that Playstation owners will receive additional content for the two expansion packs, which will remain exclusive until the end of 2015.
