Details, Screenshots and a New Trailer Show off Minecraft for Xbox 360

The massive PC success Minecraft is due for release on the Xbox 360 next week, but according to developers 4J Studios, they’re also intending to explore other avenues afterwards. In an article by NowGamer Paddy Burns, Chief Technical Officer at 4J revealed

“Mojang and Microsoft are keen for us to add new content to the game specifically for Xbox.”
“while we are working on updating the game version in the short term, we will be looking at specific Xbox content term.”

4J have recently been showcasing their exclusive Xbox 360 additions, including the ability “to take screenshots of your Minecraft levels, and share on Facebook.” Paddy Burns continued by declaring that “We would love to see a community growing around the Xbox version of the game.” Forums have been established for the Xbox version of Minecraft promising that 4J Studios “will be following and interacting with these as we continue the development.” NowGamer also revealed plenty of new screenshots which can be found at the following link.

With the release set for May 9th, an Official trailer has been released which you can view below.

The trailer shows extensive footage of multiplayer and the overall presentation of Minecraft through Xbox Live Arcade. There is however no details on when the Kinect support will be enabled and is not suggested during the official trailer. No doubt this Xbox Live Arcade addition will generate mass attention and a new audience to the already popular game.
