Namco Bandai revealed that yet another Dragon Ball Z game will be released this year, this time for the Kinect. It is set to arrive in October, which will bring the “classic action and intensity” of the Dragon Ball Universe to the Kinect. Fifty familiar and popular characters will be available, along with one brand new character, and QR cards will be available to scan to unlock new power-ups and characters.

Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing, had this to say:

“There’s going to be no better feeling in the world for fans of the Dragon Ball Z series than standing in front of their screens and unleashing their own fists and raging blasts upon enemies with this game. The Kinect sensor has truly enabled the development team to finally realize the dreams of millions of fans of both the classic games and the timeless original anime. This game will truly represent the next generation of interactive entertainment in the Dragon Ball Z universe.”

The usual Story mode and Score Attack will make its way into the game. Story mode will allow players to have a first person view of the classic Dragon Ball Z Universe battles as they pursue the Story, the first time fans will ever view the universe in this way! Over a hundred different moves will be available for fans and players to use at their disposal. Fans can expect this to be fresh and to help revive any bad thoughts on past Dragon Ball games.

Namco Bandai stated that this game will “require the player to move in the same way as their character and perform the same attack or movement from a particular famous scene”.

The exact release date has not yet been finalised but an October release is in the bag for North America and Europe!
