With Namco/Bandai’s latest title ‘Enslaved’ on the shelves in less than a week, all of us at PushStart jumped at the chance to play this immersive game at the EuroGamer Expo.

The story revolves around the unfortunate hero, ‘Monkey’ who finds himself captured on a giant slave ship with no way out and under constant watch by an army of slaver machines. This is where ‘Trip’ comes in, the beautiful and tech smart young lady who realises that the only chance of freedom will be to enslave Monkey to help her escape.

When I started playing this game, one of the first things I realised was the graphical design in place which really does it’s job as everything from the characters to the scenery looks great. I also found the combat to be quite fun as when It comes to fighting huge machines, Monkey does pull off some stunning moves tied in with his acrobatics to make the whole button mashing scenario seem to disappear. Another added feature to the game is the command menu which I found to be quite interesting as you can make Trip do all sorts of things like cause a distraction while you go all commando to flank an enemy.

However, the games does seem a little bulky when running about which doesn’t really help when trying to dodge incoming fire from hordes of enemies or a giant charging robot rhino. The AI, Trip is also a little simple since alot of the time she’ll take too long doing something and end up getting all full of holes resulting in your own death.
