Launched just after the close of Microsoft’s E3 2011 Press conference, Kinect Fun Labs is a unique ‘gadget’ driven service available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Delving into the more unique uses for Kinect, the initial collection of tools included the ability to transform yourself into a Bobble Head, as well as create a on screen character by scanning in a soft toy or other object. Recently ‘Avatar Kinect’ joined the collection, and is a more social tool allowing you to host a ‘chat show’ style set up with a number of your friends. A unique function of this though expands on the current Kinect Tech, allowing it o track both your eye brows and mouth to give more natural expressions to other users.

Today marks the release of ‘Kinect Sparkler’ for 240MSP. Available through the Kinect Fun Labs application  (located through the ‘Community’ tab on the Xbox Dashboard, or through the Kinect Hub) this is once again a unique tool to play around with. This also improves the Kinect tech by featuring Finger tracking so that you can draw in 3D space. Of course, like the other gadgets, these can be shared via Kinectshare.com and then posted to your various social network websites.

While these are all the current announced titles, Major Nelson was quoted in a recent podcast stating that they hope to have monthly releases for Kinect Fun Labs. Below are some screens of Kinect Sparkler in action. For more, see the Game Page on Xbox.com
