Minecraft a Huge Success

The highly anticipated XBLA port of Minecraft arrived on 9th May and in the first 24 hours 400,000 copies were bought, since then OXM reports that it has now sold over 1 million copies. This does not come as a big surprise considering the fan base it already has. Statistics that OXM revealed from Microsoft can be seen here:

More than 5.2 million total hours have been spent mining, 4 million total multiplayer sessions have been logged, and more than 2.4 million multiplayer hours have been recorded.

Minecraft can be bought now on XBLA for 1600 Microsoft points.
