Modern Warfare 2 DLC (Stimulus) Hitting UK Xbox Live 1PM

I’m not sure why people are looking forward to the DLC since it is 3 new maps and 2 remakes for 1200 points.  Anyway this article isn’t about me ranting on how I’m too poor to afford the map pack. This is about some extra features that are coming along with the map pack…

If you didn’t already know the The Stimulus Package is downloadable content. It is the first of many DLC’s for Modern Warfare 2 and hits the Xbox 360 exclusively first before the PS3 (sorry PS3 owners). It features 3 new maps Bailout, Salvage and Storm but also returning old favourites Crash and Overgrown.

On the first weekend you will be able to take part in the Double XP which is exclusive to the new maps only with two new specific playlists. These playlists are 100% dedicated to the new maps. As long as you stay in the match and kill a lot of people you will be able to receive the double XP. Hardcore will be available in this playlist.

Hardcore Head Quarters also gets more maps for the playlist adding Highrise, Invasion, Skidrow and Terminal now available to be played within the game type as previously couldn’t before.

And finally there will be a new update for Modern Warfare 2. This update is mainly supported for the DLC but there will be some tweaks also. The One Man Army perk will have a few tweaks to it and some of the matchmaking will have improvements due to recent international ping problems.
