Calling all Modern Warfare 3 players, get your diaries out and put a big red circle around March 20th.

Because the good folk at Activision have revealed that this is the date when all of us non-Elite players will finally get our hands on some fresh DLC.

Titled Content Collection 1, this fairly substantial release brings four new multiplayer maps, namely, Liberation, Piazza, Overwatch and Black Box. Of course all the good camping spots will already have been taken by the Elite players who’ve been enjoying these maps for a little while now, but I’m sure there’ll be room for us commoners to muscle in.

Also bundled into this download are new Special Ops Missions – Black Ice and Negotiator – this is the first time in CoD history that fresh Special Ops missions have been available for download and is a move that should certainly be welcomed with open arms by players.

A downed Air Force One is the centrepiece for battle on ‘Black Box’ as players fight among multi-level homes overlooking the Southern California neighbourhood. ‘Black Ice’ tasks players with infiltrating a diamond mine aboard a snowmobile, the objective being to plant and detonate explosives shutting the mine down forever. ‘Negotiator’ meanwhile, as the title suggests, is all about hostage extraction. Taking place in India, Activision promise high-stakes action as players breach and clear rooms and race along the streets all the while having to ensure the safety of the VIPs.

Elite subscribers will still get the usual head start though with Negotiator, Black Ice and Black Box arriving on March 13th, but at least, finally, non-subscribers have something to get excited about.
