Natal 2 Already Confirmed?

Microsoft seem to be planning a bit too far ahead! The first one hasn’t even hit the market yet but are they already planning for a Natal Sequel? So far, it is only known to be a rumour.

An Australian newspaper interviewed the Microsoft Research Asia boss, Hsiao-Wuen Hon. Hsiao said that he has already started work on a second version of the camera.

“When we do invent something first like the Natal kind of scenario,” said Hon, “while we have a researcher working with the product group for the first version, we already have a researcher thinking about the second version down the road.”

“We certainly hope we will continue to be holding that technology. I really love what Microsoft is doing.”

“Looking back I can say we probably should have done more in the consumer space,” Hon said.

It seems a bit too soon to be announcing a second Natal. We don’t even have the proper name for “Project Natal” yet so how can Microsoft already go around creating a sequel? I can see this “Natal” becoming an unsuccessful over produced sale sadly like the Sega Dreamcast.

What do you guys and girls think? Microsoft rushing in too soon or do they already have the market to do this if this is actually true?
