According to the website MetalGearInformer.com, they have uncovered some new gameplay details via a Spanish magazine for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes that includes the campaign length, healing, randomised routes by patrolling guards, the added benefits of the iDROID app and more.

Perhaps the most interesting factor from the Spanish magazine known as Hobby Consolas is that following a press event, they believe it would take the average gamer around 8-10 hours to complete Ground Zeroes when all the side quests are put into action.  They even went as far as to say that one Konami player had spent around 100 hours discovering secrets.  I could be wrong, but the 100 hour mark seems a little farfetched, but I’m certainly hoping that the 8-10 hour estimate has some truth behind it, no matter how unlikely that may or may not be.

Coming from MetalGearInformer.com , below is what they could piece together following the information from Spanish magazine Hobby Consolas:

  • According to the article, health regeneration is only for minor damage. When sustaining severe damage, the player will have to use a healing spray.
  • The writer doesn’t feel Ground Zeroes is short, they think an average player can easily put 8-10 hours into the game. The best player at Kojima Productions spent more than 100 hours discovering all secrets.
  • Among the features of the iDROID app is the ability to see where other players have been detected on the map.
  • They point out the Fox Engine looks ‘simply spectacular’, with the best facial animation in the industry, and body animations reacting to where bullets hit.
  • Snake leaves footprints in the mud, which can be spotted by guards. This is just one of the things that adds to the difficulty, other things include better fields of visions for guards, randomized patrol routes and search lights; there are many things that can give your position away.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will release for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on March 18th in North America and the 20th across Europe and in Japan.
