Today we were lucky enough to get our hands on Saw 2 Flesh and Blood at Eurogamer. With a lot of low approvals of its predecessor, lets see how the sequel fairs.

So for those of you who didn’t play the last game here’s the breakdown. Your character Detective Tapp dies in the last one either by his own hand or in a mental asylum and now you play as his son, a low level scummy reporter. After leaving the scene of yet another Jigsaw killing you are captured by that funny man dressed as a pig and wake up in a derelict building. It is up to you to escape whilst adhering to Jigsaws rules.

Now the problems with the last one are as follows. Bulky gameplay, poor graphics and a terrible combat system. So here’s the changes. The gameplay feels much less bulky, alright were not talking Assassins Creed or anything but this is by far a much needed step in the right direction. A particular favourite of mine is the shotgun door traps have actually been made slightly harder as opposed to the previous game where they were pointless if anything. Next the graphics have been significantly improved. It’s not like before where you couldn’t see anything past PS2 graphics and complete darkness, this time its really been stepped up to the good stuff. Its still dark in places, but its supposed to be dark here its not just dark for the sake of being dark. Finally instead of the bulky slow combat system from before things are a lot better. Button prompts are used for every combat sequence with precise timing needed. This delivers slow motion, graphic, beautiful looking combat sequences that really stand out.

All in all today’s Eurogamer showcase really made us optimistic today. But as I’m more than aware your going to need proof. So check out our gameplay video right here at Push-Start.
