Proving to be a very popular series for the PC during the late 90’s, the ‘Madness’ games spanned a whole range of racing styles from from city driving to off road trucking! The various offshoots in the franchise were handled by many different developers, including DICE whose most recent title Battlefield 3 couldn’t be further separated from their work on Midtown Madness 3. It’s not over for the ‘Madness’ series however if a trademark listing is to be believed. Spotted by Fusible, a listing for ‘Avatar Motocross Madness‘ appeared on the United States an Trademark Office’s website.

The goods and services in the trademark filing (Serial Number: 85590644) cover “Game software” and “Providing a website featuring information in the field of games and home entertainment; entertainment services, namely, providing online video games”.

What’s abundantly clear though is the addition of ‘Avatar’ to the title, and with this would likely come Kinect support. There’s no sign of whether this would be a retail release or an Xbox Live Arcade release, but either way, it could turn out to be a lot fun, even if it may be quite a different game to those who remember the classic series. It’s too early to tell anything of the title, especially considering Microsoft haven’t officially announced it, but here’s hoping we hear more soon, as the Madness series could prove to be an untapped gold mine for the Kinect.
