Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Gets Release Date And Price

Sega have have now revealed pricing and release date information for Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown.

Virtua Fighter 5 fans who have been waiting for the latest update can now be happy that they can soon download the latest arcade version. Set to be released next month, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will be priced at 1,200 Microsoft points (£10.28) on Xbox Live Arcade and £9.99 on the PlayStation Network. (Note: Sega quoted other regional prices for Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown – $14.99/AUD$18.25/ EUR12.99)

Also available will be character customisation DLC for all 19 fighters, with each pack costing 400 Microsoft Points (£3.43) on XBLA and £3.59 on PSN (or $4.99/ AUD$6.25/ EUR4.49) and on top of that there will be more customisation packs with one coming with nine characters worth of DLC items and the other including the remaining ten, each costing 1,200 Microsoft Points (£10.28) on XBLA on PSN and £9.99 (or $14.99/AUD$18.25/ EUR12.99

Announced last year, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will have “a full overhaul” of the original game’s mechanics, balance and animations, plus new fighters, game modes and arenas.” Below is a list of the new features you will get with Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown:

  •     The Perfect Fighting Experience: Virtua Fighter 5’s signature style of hand-to-hand combat, with revised mechanics, balance, timing and more, along with simplified controls for new players while retaining the depth that veterans demand
  •     Dynamic and Interactive Arenas: Fighting areas in new shapes and sizes, including arenas with fences and walls that are different for every round – take unexpected advantage of fighters’ new wall-based moves, or break through the fences with special attacks
  •     A Mode for Every Fight: Dominate the leaderboards with Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown’s extremely responsive one-on-one online battle system, widely praised for having little latency, or take on an army of opponents yourself in a new single-player mode
  •     Customized Combatants: Enter the ring with one of 19 playable characters, including fan favorite Taka-Arashi from Virtua Fighter 3 and an all-new character, Jean Kujo, and customize them with unique costume and character items
