Details for the main story mode of WWE 2K15 has been revealed, with WWE Rivalries.  The new Rivalries mode will allow you to play out some of the most iconic WWE rivalries and storylines in the companies long running history.  You will be able to re-live the heated tension between Triple H and Shawn Michaels between 2002 – 2004, which will of course include that epic ‘No Holds Barred’ Summerslam match.

Fans of the recently departed CM Punk should be pleased to know that you will be able to play out John Cena’s and CM Punk’s feud between 2011 – 2013, in which CM Punk held the WWE Title for a remarkable 434 days!

During these two memorable rivalries, not only will you play the matches (33 in total across the two rivalries), but you will also be greeted with genuine classic WWE footage from their everlasting archives.  Each match will have the usual historic and added bonus objectives that will unlock extra WWE Superstars, ring attire, championship titles and more.

It has also been revealed that additional rivalries will be available via DLC following the release of WWE 2K15.  Personally by the time all the character DLC was released with previous instalments, I had already played the death out of the games and these characters would only then be used for a few matches here and there out of curiosity.  So while extra WWE Superstars are welcome to add to the in-game roster, finally having additional modes added to the singleplayer campaign will add some much needed extended life into the game.  With that in mind, I’m sure we’ll also see plenty of extra WWE Superstars via DLC following the games release also.  It was also announced last week, that there will be a second singleplayer campaign specially designed for your Create-a-Wrestler.

What Rivalries would you like to see announced that perhaps we haven’t seen in WWE games before? (Or recently).  I’m a big Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk fan, but that turf has already been covered. So I would love to see the feud between Brock Lesnar and the much loved Eddie Guerrero, which led to Eddie winning the WWE title at No Way Out in 2004.

Below is the latest press release for WWE 2K15 detailing the recently revealed Rivalries mode:

The moment Triple H ended his long-time friendship with ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ by slamming him with a Pedigree was a defining moment in WWE history,” said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing at 2K. “No fan can deny the fierce competition marking the notorious battles waged between Cena and Punk. These two rivalries are firmly etched in WWE history, and 2K Showcase enables fans to take part in those memorable experiences.”

“Featuring two of the biggest rivalries in WWE history, including my storied matches with Shawn Michaels, there’s no doubt fans will experience the thrill first-hand through WWE 2K15,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative at WWE. “2K Showcase brings WWE to life in a way our fans have never seen before through a video game.

Recently two images were released featuring Randy Orton, to which you can find below.  WWE 2K15 will release for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 28th in North America and the 31st across Europe.
