Today a WWE roster reveal event for WWE 2K15 took place hosted by legend Stone Cold Steve Austin and presenter Rene Young.  They were accompanied by a panel that included “The Icon” Sting, “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Cesaro, Sheamus and Roman Reigns.  As you can imagine, other than the roster reveal, it was an entertaining event in itself.

Before I get on to that roster reveal, I’ll go through some of the other highlights of the event.  The biggest draw for this year’s WWE instalment (other than the series now getting the unparalleled NBA 2K realism treatment), Sting is a Superstar that fans have been waiting to be a part of the WWE Universe for many a year and will now finally be playable in this year’s game.

Having Sting being a playable character in WWE 2K15, both as The Crow and Surfer gimmick is amazing on its own, but Stone Cold asked him the question that just about every WWE fan would ask and that is; “will we see Sting in a WWE ring?”  To which The Icon replied that he “would love to find out what it’s like being in a WWE ring.”  Which doesn’t answer the question directly, but we know it’s gonna happen at some point.

Personally I would love to see that dream Wrestlemania match of The Phenom vs. The Icon, but it’s a match that oddly I wouldn’t want to see a direct winner.  In my ideal world it would be their final curtain call, in which the two legends would battle it out to the death (so to speak), giving all that they can give, ending with a mutual finish, both leaving with their hands held victorious.  While Sting did say he had “one more match left in him”, he also stated that during the WWE 2K15 roster reveal event, that he would love to face The Deadman, along with HBK, Stone Cold and Triple H (obviously not all at once, though that would be all kinds of awesome).  Sting however did say that he believes a match between he and The Game would be good even now.

As an added bonus, below is some gameplay footage of WWE 2K15.  The footage is low quality, during this week’s Gamescom event, a gamer at the WWE 2K15 booth, managed to record some off-cam footage of John Cena vs. Cesaro.  While you will get a better idea at the level of detail that will be included in this game via the screenshots in this article (as seen above), you can see that the animations in which the characters now move is far more life-like then ever before.  Dare I say it; I believe this year’s WWE instalment could very well be the best from the series yet.

Below you will find the full roster that will be available at launch for WWE 2K15, obviously this roster will likely increase somewhat with DLC after the games release.  It has already been confirmed that some DLC to be released will add to the singleplayer campaign with the all new WWE Rivalries mode.  An awesome Hulkamania Edition has also been recently announced that comes with a Hollywood Hulk Hogan figurine and a piece of the ring mat from Wrestlemania 30.

WWE 2K15 will release for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 28th in North America and the 31st across Europe.
