Anarchy Reigns Releases In January for The West With Bargain Price

Platinum Games and SEGA have today announced Western release dates and prices for Anarchy Reigns (known as MAX ANARCHY in Japan) and boy, is it good news. The game will hit Europe on January 11th, on both PS3 and Xbox 360, for a bargain £19.99.

Anarchy Reigns brings together several Platinum IPs, such as Bayonetta and Jack from Madworld, as well as some new characters, and puts them in a crazy world, with a gameplay style that has been described as “Power Stone from a 3rd person view”. If that description does not excite you, I’m sorry, you must have missed one of the most fun games of all time.

The game will include a campaign mode for the single-player aspect, split into two converging stories starring Jack and Leo, with new characters being discovered along the way. It then challenges you to take them online, and beat up lots of people at once using items and your own brute force, as well as some ingenuity. Thankfully, from what I’ve heard from importers, the game has a strong online infrastructure, as it seems this is intended to be the meat of the product.

I suspect this low price point is SEGA’s way of apologising for frankly unnecessary delays on bringing this game to the west, but it is much appreciated and I will respond in kind by buying it Day One.
