The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 release is nigh and Konami has released some new details.

Firstly, it’s now been confirmed that the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 will be released on PS4. Previously, while it was assumed that would be the case, it wasn’t set in stone, but now we know. However, it will only be released digitally for the PS4.

Secondly, Konami has also confirmed courtesy of a statement provided to IGN, that all games in the Master Collection Vol.1 will have a resolution of 1080p and 60fps, except for Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s hybrid console is 1080p/30fps docked and 720p/30fps handheld. It’s certainly somewhat of a shame that the new-gen consoles are not 4K, but at least they’re all great games.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 includes Metal Gear (1987), Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (1990), Snake’s Revenge (1990) Metal Gear Solid (1998), Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (2001), Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (2004), as well as a wealth of bonus features.

It is also rumoured that the next collection will include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, oh and a full Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is on the way!

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 will be released on 24 October 2023 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
