Capcom believes they’re on to a winner with their latest western RPG Dragon’s Dogma, so much so in fact that they have now begun work on a sequel. The publisher has now shipped over one million copies of the game, the 55th Capcom title to do so, and are planning to turn Dragon’s Dogma into a “major franchise.”

Dragon’s Dogma has been a particular success in Japan, selling 302,040 copies in its first week. The impressive figure ensured it would become the fastest selling new IP of this generation.
