Not to be confused with the anime series announced in 2017, which is being created by Adi Shankar, creator of the Castlevania and yet-to-be released Devil May Cry anime, Netflix has announced a live-action Assassin’s Creed series.

The news of the live-action series was announced on social media with the words “Netflix + Assassin’s Creed” with a follow-up tweet revealing that the live-action series will be produced by Ubisoft’s own Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik.

We have no other details including a release date at this time, but it’s probably safe to assume that we’ll be waiting until next year at the very least.

Netflix really are cashing in on video game adaptations, with the likes of the already released Castlevania and Dragon’s Dogma, not to mention yet-to-be released Resident Evil (animated and live-action), Assassin’s Creed anime, Devil May Cry anime and a Splinter Cell anime.
